PRODUCT: ROOM DARKENING SHADES AND GLASSLIGHT BAN SPECIFICATIONS

1. DESCRIPTION:

A. Room darkening blackout roller shade

B. Washable and easy to clean

C. Total privacy control

D. Insulates to reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer

E. 14 ounces per square yard

F. Superior lay flat fabric

2. SHADE FABRIC:

A. Base material consists of 100% glass fiber base cloth with minimum of 58 threads total for the warp and filling directions

B. Coating compound shall be a polymerized vinyl chloride resin with appropriate plasticizer and pigment

C. Opacity: Diffused luminous transmission of a single layer of finished shade cloth shall average no more than 0.005 of 1% of light

D. Characteristics of Finished Shade Cloth:

I. Tensile Strength

a. Warp 190 pounds

b. Filling 180 pounds

II. Tearing Strength

a. Warp 1200 grams

b. Filling 600 grams

III. Stiffness (warp only)

a. Maximum 20 centimeters

b. Minimum 10 centimeters

E. Flame resistance:

I. Shade fabric conforms to Federal NFPA 701 small scale standards.

II. Finished roller shade cloth further meets and exceeds the Federal specifications CCC-C-521E in all aspects.

3. ROLLER TUBES

A. Shall be extruded recycled aluminum engineered with a channel accent fabric

B. Tube size will be determined by the manufacturer based on window size and shade fabric selection.

4. CLUTCH SYSTEM

A. Made of glass reinforced polyester thermo- polymer (PBT) for wear resistance

B. Comprises of multi-banded, steel springs that lock the shape into any position when operating the control loop

C. The clutch mechanism is bi-directed and never requires adjustment or lubrication

5. CONTROL LOOP

A. Shall be a #10 stainless steel band channel

B. Bead stops attached to chain that protect against over operation

C. Optional plastic bead chain is also available in vanilla or black

6. IDLER

A. End shall be made from high strength, glass reinforced, polyester thermo-polymer (PBT) for wear resistance, smooth operation, and corrosion resistance

7. LIFT ASSIST SYSTEM

A. Shall be a heavy duty torsion spring coated inside the roller tube

B. This mechanism reduces the pull force allowing easy lining of larger shades

8. SPLINE SYSTEM

A. Consists of a PVC spline heat welded to the shade fabric and inserted into a channel on the roller tubes.

B. The spline system allows for adjustability on site and ease in changing fabric panels in the field.

9. HEM BAR

A. Shall be an aluminum extrusion enclosed in a fabric hem pocket

B. Heat welded seams and ends

C. Optional fabric wrapped hem bar battens

10. BATTENS

A. Heat welded pocket providing additional stabilization on large shades

B. Baton placement will be determined by manufacturer, based on window size and shade

11. INSTALLATION BRACKETS

A. Shall be .125" thick steel and can accommodate overhead size and face mounting

B. Optional dual shade brackets shall hold two shades in one bracket assembly

C. Coupled shades shall be connected with a lining bracket mechanism

12. OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

A. Fascia panel shall be either 3", 4", or 7.635" dual shade snap on design and made of .025" extruded 6063 T-5 aluminum alloy with a powder-coated finish.

B. Brackets shall be universal and painted to match the fascia panels

C. Fascia in available in white, vanilla, clear, anodized, bronze or black

13. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

A. Shades may be vacuumed with a soft brush attachment

B. Shades can be cleaned with mild soap and water only using a moist (not wet) soft cloth.

C. DO NOT USE ANY CLEANING METHODS INVOLVING HEAT, BLEACH, OR SOLUTIONS. USE OF THESE MATERIALS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.

14. LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY

A. Warranty covers against original defects in material or workmanship for the life of the shade not to exceed 25 years from the date of shipment

B. This does not warrant damage due to accidents, misuse, abuse, improper installation, alternations or improper cleaning
